Today was supposed to be the day.

The day everyone had to have their new TLD applications in.

Tomorrow companies would start issuing press releases about
what they applied for.

On April 30 ICANN would reveal the strings applied for and the
applicants.

Alas, no more.

Last night there was a flurry of activity on twitter as people
complained about slow access in the TLD Application System (TAS).

Then today ICANN announced it had discovered a technical issue.

TAS is now shut down until possibly Tuesday. The application
deadline has been extended to April 20. And the big "reveal"
could be pushed to May.

While dissapointing to some, I have a feeling this will be only
the first of many delays in the new TLD process from here on
out.

Applicants have waited years for this opportunity. What's another
week?
